2022 wrapped up an incredible year full of adventures, lots of personal and professional growth, and so many wonderful weddings! It was the perfect blend of locations–from the coastal islands of Maine and the epic Rocky Mountains of Colorado to my hometown nooks within downtown Washington DC and Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. I captured big, wild parties and sweet, laid-back elopements. Dogs, raindrops, tears, bubbles, laughs, squeals, and squeezes flowed through the celebrations along with good food, unforgettable roasts.. er.. toasts!, and delightful dancing.
And what better way to highlight all the best parts than with a scroll through my best candid wedding photography!
By definition candid means truthful and straightforward. But on a wedding day, the best candid moments transcend truth and leave the viewer lingering to look longer. They are THE UNPOSED, UNPROMPTED, REAL, AND ABSOLUTELY IMPERFECTLY PERFECT moments! While not always the most epic moments from the day, the best candids highlight a combination of a chosen space, creative details, a unique movement, and or deeply felt emotions to show how special the day really was. The opportunity to capture these photos often only last a few seconds, which makes them all the more special.
